Weekly News: December 14th, 2019

Welcome to our Main Event Saturday service: If you are new to The River Church, our Connections Team wants to meet you! They’ve prepared a hospitality room where you can have a snack, receive prayer, meet our pastors and ask questions about our church. We’re so glad you’ve joined us tonight; please join us again Saturdays at 6:30pm

RiverCity Kidz Check-in: Last week we announced a new class for newborns-2 yr olds; our nursery class! Parents, please make sure to sign in your children by the kiosk beside the sanctuary door in the Welcome Center. Sign-in is mandatory for all children’s participation in RiverCity Kidz.

Hanukkah Party: Sunday December 22 at 4:00 pm, we’ll celebrate the first night of Hanukkah together by lighting our big menorah. Please bring your menorah and candles, and a gift for the white elephant gift exchange if you’d like to participate (suggested price limit $15). Please sign up to bring a fried food or appetizer item to share; enough for eight people. There are some suggestions of what to bring on the sign-up sheet in the Welcome Center. Indicate how many will be in your party, including yourself. We’ll also be honoring our volunteers at The River Church, so please make sure to attend. See Nanci for more details.

Honoring Our Volunteers: On Sunday, December 22, in conjunction with the Hanukkah party, we will honor our volunteers. They are the ones who keep this church running, giving sacrificially of their time and talents to serve the Lord and this body in gratitude and love in so many different roles. The department leaders will honor them with a small token of appreciation. Volunteers: please sign-up, mark your calendars and attend!

Prayer Team: If you feel called to serve on TRC Prayer Team, please sign up in the Welcome Center. A pre-requisite mandatory class over four dates will begin in January. After you sign up, you’ll be notified as to the start date and time. The class is awesome! Please see Nanci for more details.

Love in Action: With the holiday season upon us, donations for those in need in our congregation are especially welcome. You can drop a food gift card in any amount into the offering basket or give by text or online giving using the fund name: LOVE IN ACTION. You can also place it in a separate giving envelope and write the amount beside the category LOVE IN ACTION. Thank you for your generosity!

End of Year Giving: Your church needs your support as the end of the year is one lowest times of giving for churches. If your life has been touched by God’s goodness this year, consider giving a special gift at this time. All donations are tax deductible for 2019 if received by December 31st. You can give online at www.theriverchurchnw.com/giving or by texting any amount to 360.205.1558.

Winter Weather Protocol: Should there be winter weather, especially if a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect during any weekend, Main Event service will always be live on our website. Please note that you will be able to access the live stream that day at the regularly scheduled service time, and online giving will be available. Winter weather information and activity cancellation will be posted on our website and Facebook for your convenience: www.theriverchurchnw.com.

This year, we have the Torah Study Notebook, designed in house, to help us each dig deeper, get more and retain more treasure from the Word.
